5 Fall Trends to Inject into Your Work Wardrobe

Ready to look uber stylish at work this season? It’s time to revive our work wardrobes with the latest Autumn/Winter trends. Below, I’ve rounded up some of the key trends that’ll help you see in this season. And let’s face it, it’ll make getting ready for work a little more fun…

Check print: From Stella McCartney to Calvin Klein, designers were loving the checks and plaid this season. You could invest in a cute check print skirt to easily bring this trend to the office. I love this one from ASOS.

Sharp tailoring: An easy trend to adopt in the workplace. I’m loving the wave of well-tailored business wear that was spotted on the runway. I also spotted a lot of gray tailored jackets. To work this look, you could get yourself a sharp blazer, such as this double-breasted jacket by Zara.

Polka dots: My most beloved motif is back this season, mainly in black and white. I think it would look pretty chic in monochrome on a simple tailored shirt. I’d suggest pairing this classic polka dot shirt by Banana Republic with a tailored pair of trousers for a relaxed office look.

Shoulder pads: If you’re a ‘80s style lover like me, you’ll be thrilled to know that this trend is not going anywhere this season. Get yourself a blazer with big shoulders to rock this look in the office. This long navy blazer by Forever 21 is a great choice. You can match it to a number of items to create a look that’s on-trend.

Florals: The florals that were spotted in S/S 17 have carried over into fall, though it’s not a print that I normally associate with this season. But hey, I’m open for anything that could brighten up my workday. Get yourself a floral print midi dress, perfect for those all-important lunch meetings. I like this one from Old Navy for a fuss-free floral look.

Red: I’m happy to report that red is the color of choice this season. It’s a bold choice of color for the office but hey, I’m up to try anything that could inject some fun into a Monday morning. If you’re feeling daring enough, invest in a red coat to look super on-trend as you head to work each day. I’m liking this textured red coat by Mango – it’s simple in its cut and would go well with most work outfits.
